Home decor and styling in Metro Vancouver

the finishing layer, chosen with care.

Home decor is the layer that makes a finished house feel like yours: furniture, lighting, rugs, drapery, art and the objects on the shelves. We choose and place it for the way you live, in one room or through the whole home. We work across Metro Vancouver, from Vancouver and Burnaby to Richmond, the North Shore and Langley.

01

What home decor covers

Home decor covers everything that arrives after the walls, floors and cabinetry are done. That means furniture, rugs, lighting, window coverings, bedding, art, mirrors, plants and accessories. Nothing is built or demolished, so a room can change completely without a renovation.

02

Furniture selection and layout

Furniture is chosen for the room it has to live in. We measure first, draw the layout, and select each piece for its scale, comfort and material, so the sofa fits the wall and the dining table leaves room to pull out a chair.

03

Lighting, rugs and drapery

Lighting, rugs and drapery do more for a room than any single piece of furniture. We layer lamps with the overhead lighting, size the rug to anchor the seating, and hang drapery at the height and fullness that make the windows look their best.

04

Art, shelves and styling

Styling is where a room becomes personal. We place your art and family pieces, fill the gaps with objects chosen for the room, and arrange shelves, mantels and tables so they look collected, not decorated.

05

Working with what you already own

Most homes already hold pieces worth keeping. We start with what you love, decide what stays, what moves to another room and what is ready to go, then add only what the room is missing.

06

Colour and palette

A palette holds a home together from room to room. We set the colours and materials for furniture, fabric and paint as one scheme, so a new chair or a repainted wall belongs to the whole house.

07

Decor for a new or renovated home

A new or freshly renovated home needs its finishing layer planned before move-in day. When we have designed the interior, the decor is chosen alongside the finishes, so the furniture, the lighting and the architecture are resolved together.

08

What you receive

A home decor plan includes the furniture layout, a palette, and a list of every piece we recommend, room by room. For anything we source, we coordinate ordering, delivery and placement, and we style the rooms once everything has arrived.

09

How a decor project runs

We start with a visit to the home and a conversation about how you use each room. We present the layout, the palette and the key pieces, refine them with you, and then source and install. The last step is a styling day, when every piece is placed.

10

Who home decor suits

Home decor suits homeowners who like their house but not how it feels, families moving into a new or renovated home, and anyone furnishing a condo or townhome from an empty floor plan. It is also a good first project before committing to a renovation.

11

Show homes for builders

Show homes are a separate service for builders and developers. We design and furnish show homes and prepare finish packages for multi-family projects, including Ascent Townhomes and Brydon Living in Langley. That work is described on our For Builders page.

12

What to have ready before the first call

Photos of the rooms, rough dimensions if you have them and a budget range are enough to begin. Tell us which pieces you want to keep and send a few images of rooms you like. Knowing what you dislike is just as useful.

PRICING

Home decor is quoted by scope, for a single room or the whole home, after we see the space. You approve the budget for furniture and decor before anything is ordered.

Common questions

“People need to imagine their lives in spaces and Complete Home Designs provides just that - taking a great blank canvas and breathing life and comfort into a space without going overboard.”
