Kitchen design and renovation

designed around how you actually cook.

We design kitchens around how you actually cook and live, then manage the renovation that builds them. You can hire us for the design alone and run your own contractor, or hand us the whole project including trades, timelines and installation. We work across Metro Vancouver, from Vancouver and Burnaby to Richmond, the North Shore and Langley.

01

Kitchen design

Kitchen design gives you a new layout, cabinetry style and finish palette built around how you cook. It suits homeowners managing their own renovation. You receive drawings and specifications a contractor can price and build from, so the quotes you collect are for the same kitchen.

02

Kitchen renovation with project management

A managed renovation is full kitchen design plus hands-on project management through construction. We coordinate trades, timelines and installation from demolition to the last handle, and you get one point of accountability instead of a list of phone numbers.

03

Layout comes first

A kitchen works or fails on its layout, so we settle it before anything else. We plan where you prep, cook and clean up, how people pass through while you work, where the appliances land and what you see from the next room. Finishes are chosen after the plan is right.

04

Custom cabinetry

Custom cabinetry is designed and specified to fit your space and storage exactly, rather than working around standard sizes. We draw every run, including interior fittings, panels and appliance openings, and the drawings go straight to the shop.

05

Wok kitchens and prep kitchens

A second working kitchen keeps heavy cooking out of the main room. We design wok kitchens and prep kitchens with proper ventilation, durable finishes and a layout that keeps the main kitchen calm while the real cooking happens next door.

06

What you receive

A kitchen design package includes the floor plan, cabinetry drawings, and a specification for counters, tile, flooring, plumbing fixtures, hardware and lighting. Renderings or mood boards are added when a decision is hard to judge from drawings. Everything is documented so trades can price it accurately.

07

How a kitchen project runs

We start with a site visit and measurements, then present layout options and a concept palette. Once you choose a direction, we detail the cabinetry, select the materials and complete the drawings. Ordering happens before demolition, so the kitchen is offline only while work is under way.

08

Permits and drawings

Moving a wall, a gas line or the plumbing usually means a permit. We draft permit and construction drawings in-house, so the kitchen you approved is the kitchen the municipality reviews and the trades build. In a condo, strata alteration approval is usually required as well, and we prepare the drawings that application needs.

09

Working with your contractor or ours

Both paths are common. If you have a contractor, we hand over a complete package and stay available for questions during the build. If you want us to manage the renovation, we work alongside licensed contractors and trades and coordinate them for you.

10

What to have ready before the first call

Photos of the existing kitchen, rough room dimensions if you have them and a budget range are enough to begin. Tell us how you cook, how many people use the kitchen at once, and which appliances you want to keep or replace. What frustrates you about the current kitchen is the most useful information of all.

PRICING

Kitchen design is a fixed fee based on scope; managed renovations are quoted after we see the space. Cost figures for a typical Metro Vancouver kitchen are covered honestly on the call.
