Interior designer in Langley
townhomes, acreages and everything between.
We design Langley homes from our studio next door in Surrey: new townhomes that need more than builder finishes, family houses ready for renovation, and custom homes on larger lots. Permit and construction drawings are drafted in-house.
What we know about designing in Langley
Langley is two municipalities, the City of Langley and the Township of Langley, and each runs its own permit process. We confirm which one your address falls under before anything is drawn, then prepare the set to that municipality's checklist.
Much of our Langley work has been with developers. Ascent Townhomes, forty-one townhomes, and Brydon Living, thirty-two townhomes, are both in the portfolio: we designed the show homes and the finish packages, coordinated with each developer's construction schedule.
That experience helps townhome owners too. We know how these homes are put together, so we know which upgrades are simple, such as lighting, millwork and finishes, and which ones need strata approval or affect a shared wall.
Willoughby and the neighbourhoods around it are mostly newer construction. The homes are sound and the plans are efficient, so the design work is about storage, built-ins and replacing standard finishes with a palette chosen for the household.
Walnut Grove, Murrayville and Brookswood have established family houses on larger lots. Renovations there usually start with the kitchen and the main floor, and structural changes need a building permit and the drawings to support it.
The Township also has acreages and rural properties, where a custom home has room to spread out. Larger plans need discipline to stay comfortable, so we work out how the rooms connect and where the daily routes run before the footprint is fixed.
Fort Langley has a village character that residents value, and the houses around it range from older homes to new builds designed to fit in. Interior work there often pairs traditional proportions with a kitchen and bathrooms that work by current standards.
Basements are common in Langley houses, and turning one into a suite or a space for extended family is a frequent request. A suite has its own requirements for exits, separation and services, so we plan it on the drawings from the start.
You can hire us for the design alone or for the whole renovation. If you have a contractor, they receive drawings and specifications they can price from. If you do not, we work alongside licensed contractors and trades and coordinate the work for you.
