Interior designer in Surrey
our home city, drawn from the studio up the street.
Complete Home Design is based in Surrey and has designed homes here since 2005. We work across the city, from South Surrey custom homes to Fleetwood renovations, with permit drawings prepared to Surrey's submission standards in-house.
What we know about designing in Surrey
Surrey is where our studio is, on 168 Street. Being local changes how a project runs: site visits happen when the project needs them, questions from trades get answered in person, and clients are welcome at the studio by appointment to review samples and drawings at the table.
The city is one of the fastest growing in BC, and the housing rules have moved with it. Provincial small-scale multi-unit housing legislation now allows more homes on most single-family lots, and we design interiors and drawing sets for exactly that kind of small multi-unit project.
Custom homes concentrate in South Surrey, where lots still allow generous main floors and triple garages. Our South Surrey Custom Home in the portfolio was designed from the first line of the plans, with the interiors, the drawings and the site coordination handled by one studio.
For renovations, much of the housing stock is 1980s and 1990s two-storeys with closed kitchens and unused living rooms, in neighbourhoods such as Fleetwood, Fraser Heights and Guildford. Opening the main floor is usually structural, which is where in-house construction drawings pay for themselves.
Secondary suites are part of how many Surrey households work, particularly in family neighbourhoods like Newton and Fleetwood. A suite has its own requirements for exits, separation and services, so we plan it on the drawings from the start instead of fitting it into whatever space is left over.
Cloverdale mixes an older town centre with newer townhome and small-lot neighbourhoods. In a townhome the footprint is fixed, so the work is in storage, lighting and millwork, and in replacing builder finishes with materials chosen as one package.
City Centre is where Surrey's condo towers are concentrated. Condo renovations there run on strata rules: alteration approval is usually required before work starts, and elevator bookings and working hours shape the schedule. We read the bylaws before we design.
Our drawing sets go through Surrey's permit process regularly. We draw to the city's submission checklist, support the application through review, and answer the reviewer's questions from the same desk that drew the set.
Kitchens and bathrooms are the most common starting point for Surrey homeowners. You can hire us for the design alone and run your own contractor, or have us manage the renovation, including trades, timelines and installation. Either way the drawings and specifications come from our studio, so every quote you collect is for the same scope.
We also work with Surrey builders and business owners. Show homes, finish packages and colour schemes for multi-family projects are a dedicated service, and commercial interiors, including offices, retail, restaurants and childcare facilities, are designed and documented in-house.
A Surrey project starts with a free discovery call, followed by a visit to the house. We measure, listen to how you live and agree on a scope and a budget frame before anything is drawn. If you only need direction, the paid 1-Hour Consult with lead designer Asha Abraham is a working session on its own.
